Really pleased with our new apparatus that has finally arrived after being ordered 3 months ago! Our foam vaulting table breaks down into smaller blocks making it versatile for all of our users from beginners- development groups- freestylers! Thanks to DSYGA for their contribution towards this apparatus!
On Sunday 16th February our gymnasts travelled to Poole to take part in the DSYGA Floor, Vault and Trampet competition. It was a long day but we were delighted that the Swanage Gymnasts came away with 7 with medals for top 3 overall and multiple top 6 ribbons for individual apparatus. Every Gymnast worked extremely hard in the build up tot he competition and on the day.
BIG THANKS TO:
Joss- Coaching and Judging
Jazmin- Coaching and admissions
Ella- Coaching/ juggling multiple clubs
All coaches who assisted in the build up to the competition
Our coaches have been busy!
Congratulations to Ella who passed her Level 3 module for General Gymnastics. Also a big well done to Charlene and Tammy who attended a brand new pilot course for coaching, one of the first to be run in the country! Both coaches had 4 intensive days of classroom and practical activities including on course assessment- both passed the course!
During the half term holidays Head coach Hannah and Welfare officer Kate went on an NSPCC Time to listen course. This was a really useful course that helped us keep up to date with good practice. Kate is in and around the gym on a weekly basis and looks forward to visiting all of our classes at some point in the near future. She can be contacted through the clubs welfare email address: Welfare@swanagegymnastics.co.uk.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Kate Mutendera who has been our clubs welfare officer for the last few years. Kate has now finished the role and we will be welcoming Kate Bufton to take over in February 2020. In the mean time any issues regarding safeguarding or concerns of poor practice can be taken to Karen Goldingay our temporary welfare officer.

Thanks to Joss, Ella and Hannah for volunteering their time to lead the activities and a huge well done to the Swanage school students/SG Gymnasts who assisted in their first experience of coaching. Thank you Mr Lewis for having us, we really enjoyed it!
