Big congratulations to Kerry for passing her level 1 Coaching exam! Well done to all of the gymnasts who have helped her to achieve this. We also thank the wonderful parents who drove, shared lifts to and from the course dates and exam. It is not a light task to complete a coaching qualification and Kerry has worked very hard to get all coursework and practical tasks done alongside her school work. Well done!
Month: November 2017
We raised £76.62 for Children in need!
Well done to everyone at Swanage Gymnastics for your efforts in getting involved with Children in need! We had a fun week of wearing something yellow or spotty and colouring in our whole club art work. Thank you to those who donated some money, we raised a fantastic £76.62. Well done!
BBC Children in need 2017
This year we would like to support The BBC’s Children in need. We will have a few fun side activities for our Gymnasts to take part in during their normal sessions on the week commencing:
Monday 13th– Friday 17th November
For those who would like to donate a small amount to Children in need, we will have a Pudsey collection pot for you to drop your spare coins into! Gymnasts are also invited to dress in Yellow or something spotty to get into the Pudsey spirit! (Nothing too crazy, you will still need to be able to do gym!)
DSYGA Regional Tumbling
On Sunday 5th November we took 9 of our Gymnasts to compete in the ‘DSYGA Club Tumbling’ competition in Poole. We were pleased to have come away with the following results:
Level 1: 1st place, 8th place, 9th place, 12th place
Level 2: 5th place, 7th place, 7th place
Level 3: 2nd place, 5th place
You may view all of the results for each round via these links: Round 1 Results Round 2 Results Round 3 Results
The day went very well and for some of our Gymnasts this was their first tumbling event. Others had the added challenge of moving up a level and performed new skills with confidence. Again we were so pleased by our Gymnasts hard work and lovely behaviour. It was also great to see both Chris and Kerry in judging roles. Well done everyone!
